EXPERIENCE
Trained as an Architect and seasoned by his tenure on the Harrisburg Town Council and Chair of the Board of Adjustment, Ian Patrick brings a unique set of long-range planning skills to Cabarrus County. Utilizing those skills in Harrisburg, he championed "shovel ready" projects that later received grants nearing 75% of the Town's budget, saving residents millions of dollars. He also championed a rewriting of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) ensuring development was aligned with the community wants and needs. This led to a reduction in residential development by 96% while growing and strengthening businesses and amenities for the residents.
Ian Patrick lowered taxes in Harrisburg while still providing the same services to the residents. He empowered leadership to make structural changes to the organization, improve efficiencies, and ensure infrastructure kept up with the pace of development.
He was instrumental in improving public safety by creating an entire unit of Cabarrus County Sheriff's deputies and adding staff to work on crime prevention, investigations, and traffic enforcement.
His leadership and "out-of-the-box" thinking has made Harrisburg one of the premier communities in the area - and he will do the same for Cabarrus County.
